Take it and share it with me.
If you left yours in there, you'd half expect it to be taken, wouldn't you?

Can't help taking it, so what - you steal but it's not your fault?? Are you like the tightest person on earth that you can't buy your own and feel justified in stealing something belong to someone else.
All I can say is you're lucky it's not mine because I would break your legs for stealing my chocolate! Someone has gone to the trouble and expense (doesn't matter how much) to get themselves something they want and the likes of you comes along and helps yourself????????? There's a word for you and it's thief and it's a criminal offence - irrelevant of how small you think the item is.
If you really would like some chocolate and can't get your own find out who it belongs to and offer to pay for half - if you can't find the person leave a note on the choc with your (real) name and number telling them that if they contact you you will reimburse them/replace what you took.

Who keeps chocolate in the refrigerator? Is your office building like 90 degrees?
If I had a chocolate bar at work, I would be hiding it in my desk drawer. If I did have to put it in the fridge, there would be a big old sign saying "I will hunt you and kill you."
So since it seems that whoever owns the chocolate has not taken the appropriate measures.... well, it's not your fault if it disappears.

If you want some chocolate go buy one. Don't steal it from others. You wouldn't want things stolen from you I'm sure.
It creates bad morale at work when people can't trust their colleagues enough to safely leave some food in the fridge.

No. It didn't just appear, so somebody must have brought it to the fridge and put it there. There wasn't a note on it saying 'help yourself', so I think we can assume that it wasn't abandoned or left for communal use. Ergo, it belongs to somebody. To take it would be theft. Buy your own, you cheapskate.

No! If I was saving that chocolate for a stressful moment at work and found it gone in my time of need, I would probably cry. It's not nice to make people cry. Go and buy your own chocolate. And then share it with everyone you work with to atone for your previous sins.

Should you steal? Is that your question? Hell no! You wanna be know as a thief at work? You wanna gain that rep over a little chocolate?
If you want chocolate, bring your own, but don't become an assshole over a little candy.

I think you could ask for the owner of the chocolate, and then ask him some of it. The point is to remain clear your conscience.
