Yup, I do it too. But I dun drink so much water during eating ice cream. Only 2-3 gulps or so. And I drink more water when I'm done.
I drink water not because I'm thirsty or something. But it's more because of the sweet taste of the ice cream.
Some ice creams are too sweet, then I drink water to "neutralize" my tongue. And after drinking water, I enjoy the ice cream again as much as the first spoon! ^o^

I always get thirsty too but I don't like drinking water after. For me, it gives me a bad aftertaste. Another reason is that since ice cream is already unhealthy, why try to counteract it with water, might as well go for the whole sha-bang and drink something like soda.

Strangely enough, I always have to have water after ice cream. Always. I've always wondered why - I mean, I like the ice cream flavour, so it's not that. Maybe because the ice cream kind of coats your mouth....

Water. It takes me back to the days when I was a kid at 31 Flavors and the drinking fountain water was the only beverage in the store.

I like fizzy pop with ice-cream, i guess its the process when they both meet in the stomach and start to fizz up that i enjoy, i also find its great for releasing trapped wind and gets rid of that bloated feeling, enjoy your ice-cream my friend

Yeah! but it affects your throat badly, if the water is not close to the same chillness of your ice-cream. Otherwise it is safe!! :-)
