I do. I pronounce the "H" in herb, and hour. I'm not wasting anything, not even an "H" sound.

I do pronounce the " H " just to be annoying ! It's there, I am saying it. Just like the " W " in "sword". If I wasn't meant to say it then the moron who created the word shouldn't of wrote it that way ! : )

that's simple. the "H" is silent, kind of like the word telephone. you think it would be an actual "F" in there, when it's reall the "Ph" making the "F" sound. gotta love the english language!
