Here is a question for you ladies, I am a 33 year old man and I find it hard to date because I still live at home with my parents. It's not that I can't live out on my own, I just stay home and put away a Grand a month in the bank. Would you ladies out there have any problems dating a man that still lives with his parents? Is it a turn-off? Keep in mind that I do lots of work around the house, like laundry, grass cutting, etc. I would like to move out if I ever get a GF and that way we can get a place together with my money I saved for a down payment.

i'm a guy, but I gotta throw in an opinion right quick.

Its nice and all how yer helping your parents and even better at how your saving up a thou a month, thats awesome.

Bt the way you ended your question " would like to move out if I ever get a GF and that way we can get a place together with my money I saved for a down payment" seems to say to me that yer afraid of living on your own and will only leave the safety of mom and dads if you are with someone else.

that being said, and assumed, i think girls may feel this and that might turn them off.

depending on the cost of living where you live, i'm sure you could afford nice diggs, even to buy a place of your own, using some of the money you have saved and still be able to put money away in savings (you seem quite responsible there)

and if you were to move out who says you cant go by mom and dads still for some food, conversation, laundry and to help with the lawn.

a guy that goes over to the parents house to help has got to get at least a few "awwwws" out of the girls

Very Sorry to say this but, but any man, that hasn't lived on his own (without the help of parents cash) in my eyes is still just a boy. After all i have been living on my own since I was 18. And believe me, if u think that "Grand" a month will go very far in the REAL world then you've got another think coming. There are bills to pay in the REAL world not just chores to be done.
And so what u do some chores around the house, i've done chores around my parents house since i was four. And just because I moved out doesn't mean I'm free from the chores. When I go home to visit, i help out with what needs to be done.

wow. that is my age and I cant imagine still living with my parents. I'm glad that you do responsibilities around the house. Saving money would be an advantage.

I think that it would be a little odd to date a guy that lives with his parents. Have you had women express a dislike in the fact that you live with your parents?

There are different responsibilities and experiences that you just don't have the opportunity of, by not being on your own.

Well it is kind of a turn off if you're still living at home when you are perfectly capable of living on your own. If you're taking care of a sick parent, that's a completely different story then. But come on, what girl would want to spend the night and not be able to wake up in the morning with just her teddy on and have breakfast in the kitchen while shocking the heck out of mom and giving dad a hard on? Grow up and stop mooching off your parents.

If you save a grand per month than by this point you should be able to pay cash for a house unless you live in California or something. Move out, you could also be saving money in the form of equity.

I think that's wonderful. A better way to save your money. Why move out if you don't have too. Once you do find your princess then you can move out. But till than I would stay home as long as you can. Your a good handyman around the house for your parents.

LOL your not alone guy. I am 42 years old and I live with my 84 year old mother who has dimensia and bad eye sight in one eye the other eye she is blind and she can hardly walk. so I got to do just about everything in the house . only difference is she wants me to be near her 24/7 so I am pulling in under $300 a month but at least she has a check that comes in and pays the bills and some in the bank. but still hard pressed. my girlfriend she is great with my mom they sit on the porch and sing songs or play card games

Hey! Move out. You can help your parents by going there to work on the things you list. Yes! It's a general turn-off & shows you aren't all that willing to cut "apron strings". I married a man that was still living at home at 25 and he turned out to be a real momma's boy. Loving your parents is a precious thing. Proving they have done well by you is another. Best of luck to you.

Boy you really need to move out and give your parents a break. That is very selfish of you to be taking up their space. I'm sure mum and dad would love to just hang out maybe get naked sometimes and not worry about you seeing them that way. Where is your pride in being independent??? Get outta there and start living your own life honey
