I get that “You are going to burn in Hell” speech, all the time. If I come back with some kind of comment like, :”Good, and I will keep all the child molesting priests company”, I get sent to “Sensitivity Training”.

My girlfriends’ boss kept hounding people, and telling them that they can’t gave any religious items on their desks that are not Christian. Well, that came to an end. They all got together and got her terminated. : )

While I wish pious people would leave the rest of us unbelievers alone, I know they never will - thus I educate myself to best them whenever engaged in a philosophical discussion.

Some people may tell you something wrong or unreasonable; and you cannot base on their saying to conclude that religions are wrong and unreasonable.
You have the wisdom and you have the rational sense to evaluate things. In case of religions, you should read the Holy Books and make the judgement for yourself.
After all, it is not anyone else, but you are responsible for your own life; you should not leave it to blind chance or vague guess. You must make your own choice by your true knowledge.

Tell them 'may the man without sin cast the first stone'.

Seriously. If they shut up, then they know they've done things wrong in the past, and would be a hypocrit to annoy you further.
If they don't shut up, they're hypocrits and you call basically give them a big badge saying 'don't bother with me, I take what I want from religion and use it to make myself feel better about myself'.

i'm no longer unwell of religion. no longer in any way. i stumble upon very much of non-public convenience, meaning, and means in my faith. I, too, am Catholic with the help of start, and performance chosen to proceed to be Catholic. Being gay and Catholic is a tricky ingredient, and that i have numerous friends who're dealing with that, so i'm sympathetic. they have chosen to proceed to be Catholic. i will not presume to speak for God, because i'll't do this. it would want to violate the Christian humility that Catholics are taught to have. truly, i'll assert that i'll understand your determination to go away the Church, besides the very undeniable reality that it's not a decision that i might want to have made in my view, and that in case you need to ever make certain to go back, the doors are continuously open. in case you opt for no longer to, then it is your determination. Peace be with you.

Pious people? well pal they dont exist, except in their own minds!

Remember the Pharisee who went to the front of the tempel boasting too God , how wonderful he was?
and the Publician who set in the back, and would note even raise his head to Heaven, but prayed beating his breast, "Lord have mercy"
And Jesus said "this man left the tempel Justified"
Its all Gods Grace through Christ Jesus

well i think they dont allow religious stuff because theyre trying to keep a neutral office. what if everyone began putting up crosses? what if 9 out of 10 cubicles had crosses? that 1 left out would feel a bit odd...dont you think?

as for the sensitivity training...perhaps they take that neutrality a bit too far. i think youre going to have to play by their rules or ditch them for a better job.

My question is, if you are sick of "pious" people, what are you doing on a Religion and Spirituality forum where you are most likely to encounter them?
