Like if you stub your toe, have an accident, have a family member get killed, etc. Honestly, who is the first person/people you tend to blame?

The first thing I hear out of most peoples (atheists included) mouths is "Jesus Christ!" with other expletives... not "dang, i did it again! Aren't I stupid."

- Stub my toe: Me
- Have an accident: If I was at fault - me. If it was the other person's fault - them. If we both had a hand in it - both of us.
- Family member killed: the person who killed them
... and just what did this test prove? Are my assumptions unreasonable? Am I supposed to forgive an imaginary being in the sky that has no other outside effect on my life for when I screw up? How callous would I have to be to assume such a thing?

If I stub my toe => I blame myself
If I have an accident => Who was at fault, or no-one if it was nobodys fault
Have a family member get killed => The killer, if any
First person I tend to blame => Usually I'm not that interested in blaming someone. I'm more interested in figuring out how to avoid it next time around.

I'm not even Atheist and I blame myself or the table I stubbed my toe on. If it was an accident, it'd depend on who caused it. If a family member got killed, again, it'd depend on the circimstance.
Who would you blame? Do other people blame the Devil? God?

More of agnostic than atheist here.
If I rationally knew who's at fault, I didn't need to BLAME someone.
If I was being irrational to BLAME anyone, then it would be someone convenient or at lease seemingly logical.
Too bad I don't have the Devil, nor God to BLAME, but I do have the Christians to BLAME since they are often hostile and BLAME on sins of others for anything that went wrong. It would be a fair game to return the favor by any long shot.
You see, honest people don't have to invoke the name of deity to say anything, they just speak what is on their minds and try to get over it.

If I stub my toe, I blame myself for being careless.
If I have an accident, the blame could lie anywhere; maybe it's my fault, maybe it's someone else's; maybe it's nobody's fault.
But I have no trouble accepting that, oftentimes, there is no need to blame. Some things just happen, and it need not be anyone's fault. Serenity is accepting those things you cannot change; desperately seeking someone (or something) to blame is not serenity.

I'm not an atheist, but more of a grey area of Agnostic. But when things go wrong, I blame what ever logically caused the problem..which is either myself, or the circumstances.

I don't. **** happens to everybody. Of course, if I'm up all night, grab a cup of coffee to 'wake up' enough to run off to work, and I spill all that warm, brown and sticky goodness down the front of a good shirt, that's all me, since I know better and did it anyway.
And on that note, good night.
