After recorded a macro in an excel workbook, I created buttons for respective macros. Then, when I sent the workbook to another desktop (via email or removable drive), only the macro is available in the recipient file. No buttons as created before are available in the recipient file.

1. Tools > Customize > Toolbars > New
2. Name your new toolbar
3. Add your macro icon to the new tool bar (Commands > Macros > Custom Button > drag to toolbar and customize it)
4. Toolbars > Attach
5. Select your newly created custom toolbar > Copy it to workbook
6. Voila.

I'm not following what is happening. I have never had buttons disappear when I copied the file to a different computer.

Do you have the buttons and the macros in the same workbook? If they are in different workbooks, be sure you send both workbooks.

If they are in the same workbook, there may be some problem with the Excel on the receiving system. You can try re-installing Excel and use Advanced mode and be sure any optional components regarding forms and/or buttons are installed.

I have encountered the buttons being disconnected from the macros, when in a different workbook, if the macro workbook is in a different folder name or a different path. The buttons are there, but don't run the macros. I don't know what is happening in your situation.

No, No, You should have the buttons created (These are objects in the worksheet).
Now, we need to check how did you drawn the buttons?
And Where did you created them?

I am an old user for Buttons from "Forms Toolbar" and created more than 105 files using them and opened the file in more than 10 computers and nothing like this happened with me.
