Sure they can. Both men and women can. People settle for other people just to fill the gap all the time. It's a shame, but it's common.

Definitely. They do it all the time. What hurts is when the old girl friend comes back to town and he throws you to the trash can. Don't accept a relationship where you know this has happened. It isn't fair to the new woman, and the man doesn't know it, but it isn't fair to him either.
I know of a case where the former girl friend went away and the man had a steady relationship for five years with another woman and then the first one came back to town and he loves her more than ever. Don't you think this would hurt the second woman? And how do you think the first woman would feel knowing she was replaced for five years. Everyone is hurt. The man wants to do justice to both, and was not born to be a juggler in life. He burns the candle at both ends, and eventually gets caught.

Yes they can but is it worth it? Even women do...but using someone just to while away time or in replacement of the love who moved away is not fair. First because the steady girlfriends will not be able to get the love they deserve and second you will still long for the one you love. Why not go after the one you love and be happy?

yes it can happen but sweety its not happens with every other man, the gf that they use for keeping the loneliness aways may be for forgeting the real gf. it true that some men dont keep comittments buts its equally true that some females do that too. so forget abt the past and think abt ur bright future. forget the guy who did this to u and having fun somewhere
and now find a right guy for urself and dont b in hurry for it. u will definatly get ur right choice baby .

They can, but they probably didn't truly love the other person who moved away - true love sticks it out through the good and the bad, the difficult and the fun. They may have cared about the person who moved, but if they loved that person they would either find a way to be with them or would let them go to live their life as happily as they can. It is not right to use someone to replace another - I surely wouldn't want to be the used person, and I wouldn't want to be involved with someone who could do that to another person either - how do you know he wouldn't do it to you too?

I'm not so sure but I guess so...they more like need a girl in their life to trust and talk with her, even thought they feel the loss of their love and know that they don't love this girl as much. But I guess that it is somehow comforting.

I don't think you can call that steady. but unfortunately us men do that. sorry. not only sometimes, but most of the times. it's sort of protecting the ego. Unfortunately, i have also known girls who do the same. although just a few.
