when you go to the bakery or the supermarket and you buy a pack of sandwiches, they are always savoury, why can't you buy a jam, honey sandwich

The jam would soak into the bread and make the sandwich soggy. The only way to have a 'good' jam sandwich is a freshly made one and for most shops these days that is too expensive and impractical.

The jam soaks into the fresh bread and the sandwiches go all goggy and limp.
If they use a thin spread of butter that would slow the process down.

I guess not many people want to buy them because they are pretty simple to make yourself.

Actually, in Japan you can buy jam sandwiches, you can also get some pretty weird stuff too. Strawberries and cream sandwiches, Potato salad sandwiches, Pork Cutlet sandwiches.....

Now that you have all this information, you would be in the perfect position to start a sandwich business and corner the market on sweet sandwiches.

I've always wondered that myself!
My favourites are jam and thin slices of Cheddar, or date and sliced walnut, spose you could call that, Sweet & Savoury.
I think sandwich makers have no imagination!

Pre-packed sandwiches go soggy. Jam sandwiches go soggy even sooner.

BTW, thanks to this question, I now have a craving for a cream cheese and jelly (that's American jelly) sandwich.

It's all about demand. If the demand were high enough to create the possibility of profit, please believe they would do it in a heart beat. In my city, the do sell them, though in the freezer section.
