I think it's great that you're actively pursuing ways to not be like this because nothing's worse than an overly protective boyfriend. Well, there are a few things worse... I'm just saying they aren't fun to have around. It's only natural to be a little protective of the one you're with Just don't take it so far.. Maybe you can work up a tolerance to it as time goes on. She 'is' with you. She chooses you. So don't get so worked up when she's just being a friend to her other friends. Friends hug sometimes. Ya know?

Many guys are like this. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are controlling or jealous- just that you want her all for yourself.
You care about her, and don't want to lose her. Perhaps you have had relationships in the past that didn't end very well- did an ex leave you for another man? If so, this is a typical reaction.
If you haven't, it probably means that you are not sure if your girlfriend loves you as much as you do her. You don't have that confirmation that she wants to be with you, or you have doubts that you are good enough for her. It's not that you don't trust her- it's just you're not sure that she is 100% happy with you. (this may just be subconsiously- but it's still there)
Try having a romantic evening- tell her how happy she makes you- and see how she really feels. Hopefully she'll respond the way you want her to- with bright eyes and a big smile- and tell you she loves you too.
This will put your mind at ease, and then you will not be as 'protective', because you will feel happier and more content with the relationship.

Because you don't do anything. If she talks to a guy you don't have to stand there.have a conversation also.A hug could be a greeting.stick your hand out and shake his hand. as a friend not a hi I'm her bf macho crap you never know you could make a new friend. You would also make her comfortable with the situation also. You don't think she see you are with drawn when she sees that she thinks why is he so jealous I;m with him.

Let the girl be herself. That is why you like her! - Most people who are overly protective of thier partners have some kind of inferiority complex. Take a good look at yourself, and know that you are good enough of a man to be with a great girl like her.
If it works out, cool. If not - move on.

your a guy we all hate to see our female companions all up on other dudes. it could be that your either insecure with yourself that you can keep her and/or you dont have complete faith in her to be loyal to you/ you dont want to lose her. to me it shows you really care about her. words of wisdom never ever tell her about it unless u do it very carefully like how when she hugs them u get mad then throw in my answer. will make ya look sensitive some women like that lol. theres also the off chance that if she took the hugs and stuff any further like kiss on their cheek she may be doing it to get you jealous to see if yu actually do love her.

you are just afraid of loosing her...you may be judging her by mens standards too. If she loves you shes all yours. Be good to her, be strong, do the right thing and she will always respect you. Women loose respect for insecure men who try to dominate them but are actually weak. Oh and make good love to her..she will give it back ten fold....
