It is very difficult to be shy in these days. But in my case it is terrible. I am blushing even s.o. asks me what is the time - no matter if it is a man or a woman. I use heavy make-up s.th. but it is not very successful method, my skin is going to suffer one day. Please, tell me - how to get through this? It may seems even ridiculous, but it is very unpleasant, believe me! I will be very gratefull if s.o can tell me how to control it. i suppose that I have some problems with the nerves. I am very sensitive, almost excessively.

On Grey's Anatomy, this was a medical condition that required surgery. She blushed everytime the doctor was in the room because she thought he was so cute (as do we all). So, maybe you should see a doctor. Good luck.

Because the red/blue dichotomy is false. I believe the classic red/blue map is based on county, not state. Consider that if there are 1 million voters in a county and 500,001 of them vote red, then it is a red county. All it takes if for 2 red voters to switch to blue and HEY PRESTO! it is a blue county. A big change on a map, but virtually no change in the political makeup of the county. That is what is false and misleading about this red/blue map. America isn't a nations reds and blues, it's a nation of many shades of purple.

The real secret is to stop caring about whether or not you meet some unspoken expectations of strangers. Do some really stupid stuff in public. Loudly. And enjoy it.

I believe faith in God can help, too, since part of loving Him is giving up one's self.

I do both, but I'm still shy...sometimes.

I used to be really shy in high school and I "cured" it by just putting myself in situations where I had to deal with people. I joined track, I joined clubs, whatever it took. If you learn to laugh at yourself it also helps. You might also try staying away from caffiene products which heighten anxiety. Try relaxing teas or meditation. Good luck.

i used to be very shy, but it helps if you immerse yourself in social surroundings often. learn how to laugh at yourself-don't take people so seriously. it also helps to have very close friends-people you can talk to about anything so you get more comfortable around a groupd of people. it's good to have a positive mindset-know that you're a great person and don't give a damn about what others might think of you. i was so shy i used to stutter but friends made me stronger.

Oversensitivity is a tough nut to crack. I used to be- too, & it took me a LONG time to get a handle on it. If it helps at all; pretend you're someone else, -you know, "act a role". Imagine how a favorite person you like (movie star; favorite personality; etc.) expresses themselves- and copy it. Remember- you're not shy "YOU" anymore- you're confident THEM- & if you don't want them to be embarrassed- you'd better get their persona right! I know it sounds alittle wacky- but it works! (But could you do me a favor?- PLEASE don't pick Elvis to be like; there's enough of THOSE running around as it is!) :) Good luck!

I know how you feel. Just be confident and you shouldn't care what other people think about you, because they really don't care either. Here's a link that should help you.

shyness believe it or not is self-centerness, really pay attention to what other people are doing and saying and realize nobody is perfect and smile alot and have a sense of humor.
