What does it mean when someone calls you "little sister"?

It means that they feel protective of you, that they want to be a role model and show you the path to a good life. There's nothing wrong with it. My friend Brooke is older than I by four years, but I call her my little sister because I am more dominant and outgoing that she is, and I am always there for her when people are mean or nasty to her (which happens because she finds it hard to stand up for herself).
