No. Just like it's not wrong to take any other prescribed medication.

I have been for 8 months now and l don't think they do a thing....
It depends on the type of Anti depressants you're on. I've been on 3 so far and l've yet to find one that will stop the way l feel and think. It's not a good idea to think that meds can fix you, others say talk things through with other people somethimes is better than medication. So you can only try, if they don't work then stop taking them. I do.

There's nothing wrong with taking anti-depressants if they improve your quality of life. They don't work for everyone, that's for sure, but TONS of people feel a lot better with them. Our world is an extremely stressful place, and the excessive pressures (especially in the U.S. and other countries with fast-paced lifestyles) is a perfect breeding ground for depression. The fact that anti-depressants are necessary is a disappointing, but a reality. And they're extremely helpful for many people. Plus, they're very safe drugs for most people who are healthy and without conflicting medical issues.

Furthermore, ADs don't have to be taken forever. Lots of people have situational depression, where they'd need to be treated for about 6 months to get through a tough situation, or to re-balance the neurotransmitters in their brain synapses, and then they can go off of the meds. It's only in moderate to severe depression that people have to be on long-term antidepressants.

No I do not. That statement maybe some of you might remember hearing Tom Cruise saying about it....well, he's an idiot. I also remember him apologizing after removing his foot from his mouth. I believe (even though I dont take them) that a lot of folks need anti-depressants to function correctly. And usually its for an actual reason anyone would find uncomfertable. Not everyone is like Tom Cruise, with money falling out of their a**. The rest of have to cope with the "real" world.

Anti depressants are highly over prescribed. However, I take them due to a family history of depression. I can tell when I am not taking them and they are what makes many days bearable. I encourage ppl not to take anything unless you have to. No, they are not wrong, just be sure that they are necessary.

I think taking any meds you dont need is a bad idea... BUT knowing if you need them or not is the risky part and also knowing what exactly your taking and how it will effect you is important. Its a shame the brain is so complicated I doubt doctors will ever know whats going on in there untill we have total control of our thoughts. At least I hope thats how it turns out cause if not they will probably try to take control and put everyone on meds and wash all our brains clean and replace them with some EMDR type of treatment process...

In no way is it wrong....people need help at times and depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.....there is no need to feel bad about taking them or the imbalance...it is part of who you are and people will love you for that. depression can be so hard to deal with...but take the drugs and see if they help. I am sure they will.

Millions of people wouldn't be here.......if they didn't seek help. And get meds.
People who are ignorant....like Tom Cruise...who think all someone need
is a good dose of scientology , really don't know what theyr'e talking about.
Our bodies can get physically sick.....and our brain is included in that. So,
we can can mentally sick too. Thank God for medications. Cause I would'nt
be here. I hope Tom never has to experience a mental crisis. He just might
change his tune. People suffer in different ways. Some worse than others.
It is very important to be as mentally healthy as possible,....and as physically
healthy as possible.

Ask Tom Cruise! That idiot believes there is no justification. Taking anti-depressants can help many people and has for many years.

No, and after you take some of those, take some liquor and some halucinogenic mushrooms and go drivin' on the freeway. Turn your lights out at night and hit 100 and let go of the wheel. Man what a rush!
