Probably...

"If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.”

-Albert Einstein

Also, the people posting here, for the most part, clearly do not understand Buddhism.

I wonder if you actually know what Buddhism and what Buddhist teachings are...
Buddhism goal is Nirvana.

Since this existence is the cause of Suffering so destroy this existence and become Void. So According to Vedic Literatures c it is called Spiritual Sucide.

Vedic Literatures like Bhagavad Gita and many other religions too have description of Kingdom of God, and you need not commit sucide by destroying your Existence.
You can keep your existence and live happily in Kingdom of God.

If you say "Scientfic" then i would say its Vedic Culture or Sanatan Dharma

Buddhism. During his ministry the Buddha made a mention of many things that were considered looney, but hundreds of years later was rediscovered by science to be true.

- Buddha mentioned about 10,000 creatures being present in his cup of drinking water. The people of the time couldnt figure out what he meant... many years later bacterium was discovered. Just one example that i can remember off the top of my head

Actually there are a hand full of ancient ones that modern scientific knowledge tends to support. Native American Spirituality, Pantheist beliefs "we are all connected" ....organtic chemistry (carbon based lifeforms). I think more on the Universal level (that everything in the Universe is connected) Tesla...all consists of energy. This dear, is why so many of us aren't offended by scientific studies or findings. Because so many of us have known it all along!
Blessed Be....

While I wouldn't necessarily call Buddhism scientifically based, it has no conflicts with science, and in many cases (the current Dalai Lama has written a nice book or two on the subject) embraces it fully.

The most scientific religion is Scientology. Now I feel as though it is really a cult but hey, who am I to judge. Scientologists rely soley on the chemistry of the body to better ones self. There is no God or anything that requires faith really.

Paganism that is based on "natural law" would definatly qaulify as it is just as much based on what we can prove on a scientific basis as it is on the spirtual aspects of our make up. Buddism isn't as it is based more on "moral dogma" and enhancing oneself on the spiritual level which doesn't always stand under the scrutiny of scientific examination. Although I am sure to some degree it has been tried in the past.

Buddhism originated in India by Buddha and later spreading to China, Burma, Japan, Tibet, and parts of southeast Asia, holding that life is full of suffering caused by desire and that the way to end this suffering is through enlightenment that enables one to halt the endless sequence of births and deaths to which one is otherwise subject. Buddhism has nuthing to do with God are science

I didn't understand what u mean by scientifically based but, science & medicin r now proving some of the things that is in the Qur'an (the holy book of islam)....
& the most recent thing i've heard (from TV) that it was proven by research that if u talk badly to water befor u drink it, the molecules alter a bit & become somewhat disorganized.
& the opposite is true..(muslis R advised to say the name of god before they drink or eat)...

Science demands proof. Religion offers no proof - only the demand of faith. The two are mutually exclusive.

The belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead is not much more scientifically relevant than the theory that "we are all one energy" is.

So the real answer - no religion is scientifically based. If religion was scientifically based, it'd be a discipline of study, not a religion.
