♡Mushroom in Spanish is 'hongo' or 'champiñón'.
I usually say either or.

The first answerer is right.
"Champiñón" is often used in Mexico.
I believe "hongo" is used everywhere else. (You should be aware that "hongo" is a general word for fungus, including mushrooms.)

the ones we use to make food:
the small ones= champiñon (+es, for plural)
the big ones = seta (+s, for plural)

in general u can use the word: Hongo (+s, for plural).

Singular: Hongo (H silent)
Plural : Hongos (H silent).

Incidentally hongo also means fungus.
