Gen.7
[1] And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
[2] Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
\
This shows that seven clean animals, not seven pairs went into the ark and only two of the unclean.
There needn't have been every variety of ant nor every dog. There are breeds of dogs today that didn't exist in 1900. Why would it be impossible for different breeds to occur in several thousand years?
Same for the cats, and snakes and ..........well you name it.
People, please show some patience, we get new people here every night. So what if it is old stuff to some of us, the newbies haven't researched it.
Ask something more indepth and we will hash it around

It would be impossible to take even one of each species on an ark, let alone 2-4 of each. It's just mythology. About as true as the Greek and Roman stories. The stuff was created to teach people values, not meant to be taken literally.

None. The original story has been greatly embellished by Christianity.... Noah was not divinely inspired to build an ark, he was an alcoholic who was trying to get away from his debtors.

he took with him each pair of animals, didn't he? So one pair is equal to two animals of one kind.
