Under the teachings of Christianity, Satan is supposed to be some fallen angel that has gone into a world of evil and is trying to mess with us. I think the doctrine even says he was the smartest angel and one that god favored most. However, to believe that Satan is what he is, one could easily conclude that he is an idiot. Why you may ask? Simply because, if the doctrine and religions are right, Satan will lose in the end. Knowing that he will lose and suffer and what not, why would he keep up this act? Unless there is the possibility he may one day rule over god and be our dark lord for all eternity. Satan continuing to be Satan is as logical as a person jumping from the empire state building and thinking he'll land safely. So why, I ask, would Satan be an idiot and bother to keep up his act?
Oh, and please whynotaskdon refrain from answering. If anyone here is Satan, it is likely to be you.

Thank you for your answers, but none of you have even read the question. Next time, don't try to get eay 2 points if you can't even read a couple of sentences.
If Satan will always be the ruler of hell, why would god reward Satan? I mean, Satan gets to have his own "reality" which is hell and he does people whatever he wants. Sounds like Satan is in his own hell.

Long ago, when I used to believe in God and Satan, I was mind-programmed to believe that he knew he would lose in the end, and therefore, knowing what is in store for him, he wants to take as many as he can down with him, and cause as much suffering as he can in this world in the meantime.
Now, I realize that the real idiot is not satan, but anyone who believes such entities as 'god' and 'satan' exist.

When you are told that one day your mortal body will die, and you know it to be true, don't you still keep on living, enjoying life, having kids, etc. In other words, you live true to your nature even when you know that you'll be dead in a relatively short period of time. The devil's the same way.
But if you believe the doctrine, the devil does have the ability to lure humans away from the true path, and frequently does. Heck, he managed to lure Adam and Eve out of the Garden of eden, and placed the burden of original sin on all mankind. With this, he obtained the ability to win souls away from God. So in a way, he succeeds each time he tempts souls from God's everloving presence forever. I assume God is sad when he loses a soul to the devil, but apparently not too sad, since he enabled Satan in the first place, and does little to stop the loss of some of his children to everlasting damnation.
Since according to the bible, God created the evil, and placed the devil in his current position, allowing the loss of his children to eternal damnation is apparently his will. Satan has pretty much the same problem as Judas. They are only pawns at fulfilling God's larger plan, and yet they get the bad rap for doing so.

Because he believes the impossible, he really thinks that he can surpass God, and only an idiot would think such a thing. he believes that if he gets enough followers he will succeed in his plan to rule. with all the trouble in the world people sometimes lose faith in God and that's all he needs to aid his power, he obviously does not fear consequences because he is blind and jealous of the power and greatness he will never achieve.

Without people fearing satan there would be no reason to have a god. All things have an opposite. Without one the other could not exist.

Satan is an idiot because he keeps allowing the christian churchs to use his "image" and "name" to keep collecting money and keeping the sheep (christians) in line. Satan should get a good lawyer and file a lawsuit against Jehova and the christian church for character assissination and copy right violations. ; 0 )

Lucifer was God most perfect creation. God loved Lucifer over all other of his creations.
Lucifer/Satan is not a idiot, remember he was in heaven and know of heavenly things.

Though he did not obey God, he's like a fox.
You would not know when he'll lead you into something wrong.

This is at all related with one's own thought. There is no evil thing exisit on the earth. Whatsoever available on the earth, it is for the sake of humanbeings. It is us who decides itself and name it accoording to our own choice. Thus it is our primafacie duty to purify ourself & name it correctly.
