How do i teach a 16 year old to swallow aspirin?

and yes, we have tried water, lots of water. He gags. We try crushing it and putting it in things, that works but he needs to know how to swallow an aspirin, don't ya think?

A 16 year old is still a child, give them a tylenol gel cap or gel tab.

Tell him or her to put the aspirin in their mouth (if the taste bothers them, try a coated pill instead). Then give them a glass of water and tell them to drink, drink, drink. Eventually, the pill will go down.

If they can't swallow, you can always use baby aspirin, which is chewable. You'll have to use more tablets, but they'll be taking it, right?

You could also try putting it into ice cream--after a while, their mouth goes numb and they'll swallow it easier.

If a 16 year old cant swallow a pill then that's sad. Just tell him/her to put the pill on the tongue then chug a cup of water. As long as the pill isn't being held down it'll go down with the water.

have his put it waaay in the back of his mouth at the back of the tongue and take a huge gulp of water. be there just in case he needs u to do the hilmenek maneuver on him though, cause u never know. and for safety reasons, try to be there at all times when he swallows any pills. I'm not a big fan of taking pills either. I have to take these huge horse pills (prenatal vitamins) and I never take them unless my husbant is there in case i choke and he needs to do the heilminik on me. So just to play it safe, always be there for him when he swallows, cause u never know, but do as i said on top and he should bbe fine. once he swallows one, he'll get the courage to keep swallowing them.
