I've heard of a few people who've been in the military who can fall asleep in seconds. "I'ts a trick I learned in the Army." But I can't find any information on it. Anyone heard of this, or know the technique? I'd be nice to know, given that it takes me at least half an hour to fall asleep, and I can't take naps during the day. Other techniques don't work. Please help.

this has been taken from someone who knows what they are talking about, i am just passing it on to you 1. He will get medically evaluated for the condition. They will try to resolve the situation through treatment and/or drugs. 2. If that doesn't work they will medically board him to determine if the condition warrants a return to duty (with limitations) or a discharge 3. They will medically board him again to determine what type of discharge he will get and any disability rating he may be entitled to This entire process normally takes 6-18 months depending on the situation and how backlogged the medical eval process is. now seeing if this is if you have already joined, i would say you could enlist, and only if it becomes a largely debilitating will they consider discharging you, but they would try to help you first... Hope this helps you out. Atleast try i you are still unsure, or even ask someone in the military, or read some of their online documents if they have many to do with enlisting.

It's not a myth, it is true...my boyfriend can fall asleep in 5 seconds flat (ex-military) and I am so envious of him! He used to be able to fall asleep in the back of his Bradley fighting vehicle...which, trust me, is no easy task between the noise, heat and fumes.

How did it work? Sheer exhaustion...they work 'em like dogs (he was Infantry). Sleep was a luxury and they took advantage of it anyway they could...that habit has not left him.

I think the only way to do it is, a) join the military b) have a clean conscience c) have no conscience or d) sleeping pills/benadryl

Good luck!

It's call busting your butt all day long. You try running 3-8 miles a day plus all of you normall and/or extra duties. Or being deploy for unknown amount of time. Once you do that, then post a nother comment on "This is what I learned how to do in the military"

As a Marine I didn't always know when I could get some shut eye. So give me 10 minutes of downtime and I'm asleep. Dead tired was the biggest requirement.

My husband's in the Army and when he's home he'll fall asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow sometimes. I guess it comes from sleeping hard when he can. He's currently deployed, but I'll ask next time I hear from him.

No such thing. Its not a trick. People in army are able to sleep easily as they simply do not have enough sleep and are simply too tired.
