i think it would be safe to say that more than 60 percent of people in america dont support the war or army, however, pride and support for loved ones in the war dispite the politics probably takes over 39% of the people in america. i think we all agree we could be spending the money more efficiently in louisiana... in america... where it is needed.

Yes. They are called Democrats.
The have not supported the troops since LBJ so poorly used the Army in the mid-60s. For that matter, they never really supported it. POWs were left in the care of the USSR under Truman at the end of WWII without a care from the administration. Wilson left many to rot after WWI...I'm not sure if a Democrat has ever "supported" the troops. Jackson perhaps, circa 1828?
Mostly, they have never supported "the war". whatever the war is. Even Truman, the only 'tough Democrat' leader of the 20th century spent most of his time running away from confrontation with the USSR in eastern Europe and Asia until he finally had to make a stand on a tiny corner of Asia called Korea.
Clinton ran and hid from terrorism.
Carter ran and hid from everything.
LBJ ran and hid from his 1968 victory in Vietnam so the NVA would be able to regroup and the war would be "fair".
Kennady couldn't even support an invasion he created (bay of pigs).
I can't think of a Democrat in the last half century that supported any war or any troop.

I support both. Because I'm married to an Army guy. All of our friends who have gone say that we need to be there. That the war is the right thing for us to be doing.

i dont support the war but i do support our troops... ur question is like saying if u dont support the war then u dont support our troops. i support our troops 100,000,000% because THEY are the ones that are putting THEIR lives on the line so we can live our lives... THEY are the ones that earned freedom and we are the ones that are taking advantage about it... and the army? wtf r u thinking its not just the army over there in war zones... theres also the marines n the navy, n some of the airforce. ur acting like the army is the only branch that is putting their balls on the line

No, we got into this war and it's highly irresponsible of us to leave Iraq like that. An army goes were it told to go, that's there job if they don't do their job then they've wasted our money being trained. In a democracy it is the people who have to ensure that there military is used for the purposes they deem worthy. I might not have condone the war but I don't blame the Army and I believe you should fix what you broke. We broke the security of Iraq.

It seems like most Americans support their army.
Fewer and fewer Americans support the war.
....according to the latest polls (Ipso Reid, CNN, etal)

I support the army in that I'm upset when I hear about them die. I hope for them to have a safe return to their families, and spend as little time in danger as they can.
However there is a handful of them that are total pieces of sh*t, I think we can ALL agree on that. Raping and slaughtering 'enemy' families is barbaric and not what our country is about.
