In AIT, does a solder get to come home for Thanksgiving?? If so, for how long????

During Thanksgiving there is a good chance that his unit will have a four day holiday. Durning that time off he can request a pass and can stay gone the whole time. BUT he has to stay within 60 miles of base. So if his home is close to base then he can go home. If not the family can go to him.
