Why on Earth is Bush still sending Troops over to Iraq when Mahdi {Iraq's vice president} said it himself that Iraq is not in a civil war, and doesn't need more U.S. troops."The Americans made many mistakes, and Iraqis had to support that". It has a constitution and elected government, and thus there is no need for an international conference.""Our options as Iraqis are that we don't have an exit strategy or any withdrawal timetable,"

If they are not in a hurry to get on a timetable, and do not want us there, then why be there??

Because the reality of the situation is no deterrernt. We're committed to staying the course, regardless of whether it's a dead end, goes over a cliff, leads into a mudpatch, or actually accomplishes anything.

The problem is that the shrub has drawn a line in the sand and he can't back down because he isn't a big enough man to admit he was wrong. The troops on the ground know that there is a civil war but Mahdi is of the same cloth that produced the Iraqi "patriots" that told the shrub about the numerous WMD hidden all over Iraq and the nuclear weapons program. About that constitution. The Iraqi constitution that Saddam for some reason heeded had very liberal rights with strong protections for women. One of the reasons the al-Qaeda hated Iraq and Saddam was the secular state that Iraq was and Saddam enforced. A most open sign of this heresy was the open participation of women in society. They worked, they were educated, they drove. They were affront to fundamentalist sensibilities. The constitution, forced on the Iraqis by the US has stripped women of all rights and placed them under Sharai law which has all the empathy and sense of fair play toward women that the Spanish Inquisition showed towards heretics.

I just think that it is just plain stupid for every a*s*s*hole to think they have the power to influence a presidential decision. If an elected president takes a stance to protect his country through whatever means, then he has the right, and punk heads would not be here questioning his credibility.
It is an election year and sorts of freaks are out to play and some just want to join the debate without having sufficient facts.
If the president decides to keep the troops in Iraq,so be it.
If the president decides to monitor calls, let him go ahead.
I do not want some fat head over-patriotic swine eater to come tell me that I should not support the president in time of war.
Besides, those guys out there fighting for you and I don't need your opinion as an encouragement.
This country is Great and I support the commander in chief irrespective of his party affiliation.

You expect Mahdi to announce Iraq is in civil war and admit that they have lost control of their new country?

Setting a date for withdrawl will most likely lull the terrorists there into waiting until there are no more Americans to protect Iraq and allow them to strike for a coup d'etat, Taliban style.

More troops have to come back due to that fact that there are troop rotations going on. Now more troops are being recalled due to tree hugging hippies that say so&so has spent to much time deployed or spouses that say my spouse was invoulitary recalled and has been deployed for 12 months or how ever long. No body forced them to sign up. Everyone sign's the contract on there own free will. I personally hope that I do get called back up to active duty, so there will be atleast one less pansey complaing that this isnt what he/she signed up for.

too many idiots. They do want us there but you take one line that may not even be true, and probably isnot, and go straight to "lets all go hate bush". we have troops there because the adults know what they are doing, and they only asked you to stay at the mall and out of the way of reality.. Don't worry, we will handle it.
