I've performed it maybe 5 times all the way through without a mistake (including all of the effects which one guitar can produce in a performance setting) in 25 years of playing. I really think it compares to a classical piece in dificulty.

You can say what you like about it and I'll pick the answer which makes the most sense to me.

I still enjoy playing that particular piece, too... Been playing about 32 yrs now and only recently began to attack that final questioning phrase with a pushed G-string rather than the cheating-but-still-sounds-good pull-off immediately before when the final vocals kick in with "...And as we wind on down the road..." Got a Roland MicroCube amp and the sound through headphones (with the CD player plugged into it, too) is quite good... Especially with a splash of chorus and a dash of reverb...
I wonder, during the verses, if you end the C-tacit-Am with the A (5th fret, 1st str) and C (5th fret, 3rd str)...?

Well honestly, 0 times perfectly and completely, but I've got down a majority of it. Then again, I've only been playing 1/10th as long as you have.

I never took the time to learn the entire solo and put it all together. I'm so ashamed at my laziness... But I must agree, it's a beautiful song if performed well.
