When science and medicine advances sufficiently to perform human brain transplants, where will the religious soul (if you believe in the soul) exist if you perform a brain transplant from one human body to another?

Even better:

Assume we reach the point where you could download your entire consciousness into a computer and the brain and body are disposed of, and your existence continues on in a body that does not suffer the limitations of illness, physical exhaustion, etc...

Which contains the 'soul'... the body or the consciousness? Would this be suicide or just man sidestepping genetic evolution in favor of mechanical evolution?

There exists no such thing as a soul distinct from the human body. If a brain transplant were ever to take place, the human part of the composite is the brain, not the supporting structure. For a fun take on this, read Robert Heinlein's I Will Fear No Evil.

Your soul is the energy in every cell of your body. Because once your cells die your soul either goes to heaven or hell. I know that you are thinking well what about people who have lost legs or feet. Where did that part of the soul go? Well if you ask anyone who has lost a limb they will tell you that it still feels like the leg or arm is still there. That my friend is your soul.

Personally, I think the soul would stay with the brain, even if it went into another body.

P.S. Where is YOUR soul, and more importantly, where will it be spending eternity?

Our soul is not a physical part of our body, but rather it is a term used to describe the part of us that will live for eternity. All we know for sure is that doctors will tell you that when a person dies it's like something leaves the body.

the body and our spirit together make up the soul. So anyone with a body and a pulse is a soul

Good question. It would seem to me that your soul would go with your brain. That would explain why I feel my soul. You brain houses who you are and who you were.

Mind, Body & Soul. They are seperate at death. The soul is spirit form, so it leaves the mind and body behind.

Your mind is a product of your brain. Where is your soul when you sleep? If your soul and brain are separate then why couldn't Ronald Regean(r.i.p.) remember who he was? If he couldn't remember who he was when he was alive, how could he remember when he's dead. There is no soul.
