i'm currently taking prozac, topamax, and trileptal. I also try to eat healthy and exercise, but i wake up EXTREMELY tired. When I try to get "enough" rest, I just end up staying in bed all day. My doctor has searched before and hasn't found anything wrong with my thyroid levels or iron levels. Could there be something he's missing??? Could there be something I'm doing wrong??

I am very surprised that your doctor didn't review adverse effects with you. Fatigue is a less common adverse effect with Prozac, and a common adverse effect with both Topamax and Trileptal. You are doing nothing wrong. And your doctor IS missing something and it's right in front of his eyes. Instead of both Trileptal and Topamax, another, single anti-seizure med may have less of this effect on you. Speak to your doctor again about this possibility.

If your have ruled out med being the cause you might want to get screened for cancer or even HIV. Should either of those be the cause it is best to find out now so that you can bring it under control. PLEASE don't let fear stop you from finding out because if you can rule those 2 things out you'll at least be able to check other things. Life is too short to be tired all the time. If your doctor can't find out the problem you need to check out a different doctor to see if there is anything else you can investigate. You could very well be suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is very hard to diagnose. Below is a web site that may offer help. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

yes, the doc's missing that you could have chronic fatigue syndrome, or u may need your meds adjusted. I also stay in bed most of the time with exhaustion. Depression can cause you to sleep a lot or too little.

Chronic Fatigue syndrome. Ask doctors about that and do a little research on your own too.

I don't know what you're taking your medications *for*, but I do know that depression or other mental disorders can actually cause physical pain and exhaustion.
