I've been told that in some european Mcdonalds stores they do not have ketchup.

I don't like ketcpup or mayo on my fries but I love them dipped in hot liquid cheddar cheese.......mmmmmmmm.

I did not know about it until last night when I went to a burger shop with some new friends and she ate her fries with mayonnaise.
I think it is a function of how you were raised and what traditions you were brought up with.
I am not a fan of it, but others like it.

They have ketchup but they also serve mayonnaise. Most fast food restaurants have different items depending on what country they are in to suit the food culture.

I don't know what they do in Europe. My neices are from Germany and were in the states visiting with us this summer. They ate ketchup with their fries. My brother used to love to dip his fries in thousand island dressing (ketchup, mayo, and pickle relish). My preference has always been mustard for my fries.

That is true. The french eat fries with mayo, but I'm not sure about the rest of Europe.

In France it's almost taboo to ask for ketchup. Yes customs are different in Europe and abroad. As for mayo, I see many ppl here in the U.S. opt for ranch dressing on their fries. Hey whatever, just give me good ol' ketchup.

Ewww, yeh one of my friends and her kids eat mayonnaise with their french fries. I think it's nasty. And I know it's a horrible thing to say...but eating habits like that are probably why her and her child are overweight. Gross....mayonnaise isn't anything but flavored oil and fat!

The Dutch only eat french fries with mayonaise ... I had a Dutch boyfriend for 5 years and it still grosses me out!!

Yes I have. And in the movie " Sling Blade" , he liked his fries with mustard. To each their own. As to my Freedom Fries, it will be with Ketchup

Sort of. I've had aioli with french fries and they just taste darn good. And that's basically garlic with mayonnaise.
