That's a difficult question to answer.

If they are determined not to learn it, then no. Even the best trained teacher can not MAKE a student learn anything. If teachers could make students learn, we wouldn't ever have any failing children.

However, if what you are really asking is can somebody motivate themselves to learn what they don't enjoy, then yes. If they are willing to change their attitude and take responsibility for their learning, they can learn even the most mundane topics.

Yes, usually is it all about how the material is taught. You have to appeal to the part of the student that is resisting. For example, I never wanted to learn Algebra. I always said 'What the hell will I ever need to know what X equals? My answer came was apparent te first time I wanted to finance a car and needed to know what % I could afford. It has to be useful and fun. Hope that helps.

Oh yes most deffinitely! I hated Chemistry and managed to understand it quite well after a lot of practice and studying. I was working my butt off. Think of it as a challenge, that way it keeps you on your toes. Whatever it is, you can do it if you really stick with it and get by.

Certainly. While it is much harder than teaching them something they are interested in, it can be done.

Generations of students memorized capitals of states and multiplication tables up to 20x20.

I think they are two seperate subjects. If you are interested, you learn faster and don't get bored easily. But if are not interested, you learn very slow or ...at all....
