we live with our relatives and our uncle is acting like a devil! he's always drunk and very much alive in the middle of the night. He screams and acting like a fool. He even look more like an addict, (could be right)he talks too much of evil words...we can't sleep better at night. We have no peace at home at all. the kids in our family won't understand the matter and their always afraid. I don't know what we had done that drove him that mad. he's crazy all the time and dangerous. We can't leave the house since we can't afford to rent one. We are a big family. He does harrassment sometimes but we couldnt report him for it would cause a great problem, a war maybe, between the two families. the situation make us mad at him. If ever given the chance i might kill him. He's becoming worst and i can't wait to see him DO the WORST damage to our family. I'm just 18, i promised to myself that i'll take revenge. my elders might do the same. i pray but tears just flow and i'm still mad after all

I think the best way to deal with your problem is to let all the members to discuss it during an schedule family meeting to discuss the issue at hand. Remember, however, that during this meeting it will be obvious that each member will become defensive and accusative to every issue hurdled to each members. So be sure that you are in relax and cool disposition when this meeting will takes place and be the mediator. Also, let the discussion flow be respectable to the feelings of each member. You are here discussing a family issue that will be resolved peacefully.

Now when this happen, try to find out with no accusative, anger or whatever the problem really is. Listen to well and let the solution be framed by all members of the family.

If after the meeting the same situation will appear probably you can talk it out with a family councillor to straighthen the issue.

Just do what it takes to keep yourself safe until you are in a position to move out of that house. Try to not be home when he is, and maybe get a lock for your bedroom door. If there is any abuse involved, an anonymous call to social services is an option. Your name would be kept out of it. Or maybe an anonymous tip to the police if you know he will be drinking and driving.

This is, as you know, just a plain and simple $hitty situation. Deal with it until you're family is financially able to get out of the house. Be the peacemaker as much as you can. Try to calm down hot situations. Do whatever you can to smooth out this rough situation. As you said, it's all you can do until you're able to move someplace else. Til then, you're stuck with a monster.

The best thing is to, tell a good friend. When he gets in these episodes, call your friend or close neighbor and have THEM call 911. It gets you off the hook and him out of the house. If he does this very often, he can get "time" for (repeated) offender.

Don't let one man ruin a entire family.

good Luck*

Go to a shelter. It is better than living in this hell. They will help you find a better situation. If you are 18 you are old enough to get a job and help support your family.
