I didn't realize until after doing some research tonight, but I think my cat might be pregnant. Due to the swelling and pinking of nipples. The extra affection she is showing. And eating lots more. However I do not know how far along and now she is having vaginal bleeding. I am concerned she is having a miscarriage.
The question is do I need to take her to a vet? or let nature just run it's course? Also what do I do about the bleeding in the meantime?

I am a little shocked at how intolerant and judgmental some of the answers appear to be... Your question is valid, and your concern for your cat is real. If she is not spade, she is very possibly pregnant. I agree with those people who suggested you take her to the vet as soon as possible. If you are concerned about cost, be up front with the vet about that. Sometimes extra tests and procedures can be avoided to help keep the cost of treatment down. Good luck to you and your little girl.

Glad you asked some people are such crabs about your question, no question is a dumb question! I have 3 cats and I think she is in heat, they menstrate like all females and it is scary. True she may be pregnant also. Anyway go to the vet now or call the emergency 24 hour vet number with your vet. If your vet does not have an emergency number just look in the phone book. I truly hope kitty feels better so you can rest..

HOw old is kitty??? Do you know the symptoms of your kitty being in heat cuz the things that youve described are also signs of going in heat also her vaginal area may seem swollen & pink.....if you havent noticed taht shes been in heat before & she is quite young this could be her first season, nothing to worry about at all, just try to keep her inside because if yuou dont SHE WILL get pregnant....very affectionate, bleeding from the vaginal areag swollen teats & vaginal area, excess hunger, raising her butt alot and alos excess yeowling & cat calling, all signs of being in heat.....I would reccommend you get her spayed ASAP & yes you can have this done when she is in heat...if you dont get her fixed & she goes outside she WILL get pregnant because the scents she is giving off will attracts Tom cats from ALL OVER your neighborhood & they WILL NOT go away till they either get ahold of her or her heat ends....I wish you luck & if your sure shes not in heat then I would get her to the vet ASAP as she shouldnt be bleeding from her vagina unless shes in heat or delivering kittens, and if shes not swollen to the point you can tell shes pregnant then shes not about to give birth....BEST OF LUCK

Watch your cat closely, these could be signs, if she is pregnant that she is about to give birth, or if not she could simply be in heat. If she shows any signs of pain or distress, call a vet immediately, though.

She might just be in heat, but call the vet and let him or her determine if it is something to worry about.

You should call 911 or call your local police maybe your cat was sexually abused or have first time in sex that's why she is bleeding.
