Why dont you take a lower level algebra class first to refresh yor algebra skills. It's much less painful than failing the other way.

Not if you could get a tutor. That helped me through a couple classes that were hard for me. If not repeat the course with a different instructor. Good luck:-)

If you have good tutors available, it would still be hard work, but not necessarily "academic suicide."
