I know that VA pays a percentage to disabled American soldiers, but when a soldier comes down on a Medical Discharge that is unexpected, the Army should compensate for the time left that the soldier expected to contribute. Afterall, if a Major League baseball player gets cut from a team or traded, he still gets compensated by the team that let him go.

if you were deployed to a combat zone, even kuwait you get 2 years free medical care through the va after your seperated, oh and you should recieve a severance pay. the formula for figureing how much you will get is this... base pay x 2 x # of years you have been in.

and 1/2 years round up, so 2 and 1/2 years would be 3 years.

You are talking about 2 different situations. I don`t know how the government works with discharges, but I do know that Major Leagues pays high dollars so I would`nt even classify the difference.......

From what I understand, yes. You get severance pay. But I'm not sure how it gets figured out though. I'm getting out on a medical discharge from the navy, and after taxes I get between 10-12k.

your percentage is all you get. you will however receive this for the rest of your life. If you wanted a sports contract then you should have been a professional athlete. Using your logic then the army should be able to sue you for not fulfilling your contract. don't get greedy.

This doesn'y make much sense. The military isn't professional baseball. Also, your contract is written so that the military has every right to do everything.
