Did she tear one? Dew claws are usually only removed in puppies under 6 days old and in adults only if they cause a problem. I would cancel the surgery all together. As far as I know, it shouldn't complicate anything. But I haven't done any surgeries yet... consider having her spayed too like some have said...

why would you chance surgery for dew claws? thats a big risk for a small problem dont you think? i'd cancel for good not just for the heat. and to answer the ? , no , it doesent matter if she is in heat. maybe spay and do the dews.?

Since she is going to be undergoing anesthesia, call the vet and ask to have her spayed at the same time. It will save you time and money, and will save her pain, suffering, and unwanted puppies.
