Sounds like they could have stitched this up to alleviate the problem. We had a Cat that was hit by a car once. The Car went over the top of Him and it hit His head with the undercarriage. He had a really bad cut and knot on His head, and His tongue was split some. He was slobbering, and would not eat. The Vet told Me about the same thing. I had to hand feed Him, chicken soup broth, and water with an empty syringe. It took a while, but with a lot of TLC, He recovered. I don't know why so many answer to put the animal down, You said it wasn't in pain. We lost three very beloved animals this year. They all had a good life, for a long time, but it still hurts. You are willing to go the extra mile, so please don't give up hope.
There is a web site www.JustAnswer.com where You can ask any type of question, from cars to cats. You set the price You are willing to pay. Many pay $10, and You can ask about Your Cat, and no I am not affiliated with them, in fact I wish I had known about this site, when My babies were ill.
God Bless You, and Best of Luck, I guess for now just try to fashion some type of bib, and get some of those puppy training pads to lay Him on, or maybe a diaper, something to help the wetness on Your things.

Truth-if you can't tolerate the slober find him a home prepared to handle special needs cats. Your baby has earned a good home. If he's in in pain and is still able to enjoy a good life then he should get one. There are numerous rescue organizations around that country that can help.
Aside from that drastic measure, have you thought about just not letting him on the bed?

Maybe you should take him to a different vet for a second opinion. Something is obviously wrong with him. I know how hard it is to put down a cat but if that is the only solution, you have to do it. Don't let that poor cat live like that. You can't really know if he is in pain or not.

Your descriptions sounds like more physical damage than internal injuries. Make certain that your cat is getting some form of nutrition, and seek an opinion from another vet.

Try another vet. Maybe you can find one who will stitch up his lip so he can keep everything in. It's wonderful of you to keep him, I know how strong the bond can be with your feline companions
Good Luck!

You need to follow your vet's advice. If you want, you could get a second opinion. But you cannot let your pet suffer.

Well, if he's already been to a vet, and the problem is just slobber, I guess just clean up after him.

the most resonable thing would be to put him down. I know this isn't wat you want to here but its true. You should probably search for a cat that looks like yours and name it after yours it will help you.
