I'm trying to work out whether HP is winning or losing the digital camera race

HP was never a dominant player. Kodak, Canon and Sony rule the digital point & shoot market. HP, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic etc, are all playing catch up. In 2005, HP ranked 5th in the USA and 7th in Europe and Latin America. In Asia they actually pulled out of the market.

HP has never been a player in digital cameras. They're popular with novices and computer brand loyalists.

The players in digital cameras are Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Kodak (also for novices). Other viable entries are Pentax and Olympus, also as the other poster noted, Fuji and Panasonic.

There is no race to win. It's just a product, there will always be many competitors.

I trust fhotoace in that with p&s cameras technique is more desirable significant . I have and performance had numerous finepix cameras and an straightforward percentage 710 . great cameras for what they're . a pal has a cannon particular shot and many of the skills it has were sturdy yet i don't love it as a lot as my different cameras . i have not compared the finepix cameras right now with a nikon . Is there a digital camera club on your area ? If there is you may want to probably get with them and be conscious the images that they have got excited about diverse cameras . or perhaps possibly set up a evaluation shoot .
