I know it wouldn't make sense because the holidays are only a few months away, but I was getting one before the rush and I was curious if anyone know of any plans of lowering the price seeing as how it's been out for the better part of a year.

I'm gussing not since the Playstation 3 is being priced at $499 at the basic level and $599 at the premium level. There is no incentive for Microsoft to go lower; they are already lower than Sony's machine. Now let's see how much the Wii launches at.

Actually, a little insider info from a customer rep slip at best buy, the price will drop $100 when PS3 comes out around Christmas.
