...feel threatened by Atheists? Not all atheists are going to scream bloody murder or make fun of your beliefs; some are quite intelligent and reasonable when discussing beliefs (be it in this forum or in public). Not all atheists want to change your mind; they're not trying to take over the world. They respect your views just as they wish to be respected.

(For the record, I'm not personally an atheist. And I'm only mentioning that because I know I'll be judged as so merely because I am willing to defend them.)

I think it has to do with lack of solidity in certain people's faith that they respond this way. If someone with opposing views can easily offend them, or threaten their faith, then their faith wasn't that strong to begin with.

I also believe this is why some, not all, Christians are quick to sequester themselves from those they deem "unworthy" or not "Christian enough", even within their own churches. It is lack of conviction, pure and simple.

I don't feel threatened by athiests. The fact is that most of the athiests that post here are usually screaming bloody murder and making fun of my beliefs. I in turn, retalliate. It's human nature. But we are to die to this world, so I guess I need a little more patience when talking to an athiest. Just as long as they are on the same wave length and respect my views also..

I am not threatened by atheists anymore than other Christians on here. Some people of both sides are asking legitimate serious questions for the sake of intelligent debate. How can I justify to God that someone has threatened my beliefs? They can't. I am very firm and secure in my faith.

I do however get irritated by the ignorant, biggoted remarks that some people make here. Both by so-called Christians and non Christians. Just like the non Christians have the right to defend themselves to retarded statements made by Christians, I have the right to defend myself and my beliefs to retarded statements made by non Christians. And I will not be beligerant in my defenses either.

Believer feels towards Atheists the way they do toward any other belief other than their own. Many people go against other religions as well not just atheists. People just tend not to flow well with other beliefs that are not like their own. Everyone wants everyone to believe the same way they do so they can be sure they have the right way is what I think. I read my bible and I just go by what it says and I feel others should do the same. But I don't feel that believers just pick atheists out I just feel like I said that they are against all beliefs that are not like their own.

Atheism or being Agnostic isn't the issue but the flaunting of their beliefs or non-beliefs is the problem. What one believes should be personal or at least confined to family units. I have been Buddhist for many years but only a few in my immediate family are aware of it.(My family is Christian). I engage in this forum to explain to others the concepts of my faith, not advocating the adoption of it. I dislike the ridicule that many younger people put on the Muslims or the Jews and their challenges against all faiths. It matters not to others on your belief, it matters only to you.

I would love to sit one on one with a non believer. I am not threatened, but I have noticed that they seem to be angry when asking questions.

I respect their opinions, that is free will a gift from GOD. But I also feel they should respect the answer I give to their question when they ask.

Am I? I am not threaten or insecure. Infact I am too damn stupid to put premium on faith than on intellect. You see my poor english? It's a struggle just to get my thought across this forum.

I love diversity of thoughts even coming from atheists?
