Aww, you've got it bad. I wouldn't suggest breaking up with him to focus better if you like him that much, that would probably make things worse. I suggest you start training yourself to focus during certain times. You can do it if you try! Trust me! There will be plenty of time to day-dream later, but you probably won't have to because you'll be with him. Save your sweet moments for when you're away from him and you're bored cause there's nothing else to do. Then, all your built up day-dreaming will come in handy.
You know the interesting thing about day-dreaming, though. The more you do it, the harder it is to not do it. Another thing you should be warned about, day dreaming can make you loose touch with reality. Just make sure you do a reality check some times to make sure the real relationship is living up to the day-dreams.
I think that's really sweet, though. I hope my girlfriend does that too, but not at work cause she has to focus there. *chuckles*

Well it's called will power, self control, keeping your priorities straight, etc. I think it's great that you're finding joy in spending time with him and even get that warm feeling inside when you think back on those times. It's when it distracts you from your life's other priorities that it becomes a small or big problem, depending on how much of a distraction it is. There's no trick to it, you just need to try hard to keep your time with your boyfriend with your boyfriend, and keep your time at school (your school work) all about your time at school. Sorry I couldn't offer you any kind of 'quick fix' or 'tricks' to getting around this, but as best I know there are none.

Hmm...Let's put it this way. The one thing that no one can take away from you is your education. If this guy dumps you, you will not have wasted time as long as you stuck to your education. If you get great grades, you will be in college, where it will be even more harder to focus because guys and party aniumals are everywhere. Later on, when you land that glorious job, you can thank yourself for sticking to school through all of that and not throwing it all away to any of the boys you met along the way. And then, you can date any guy you want without feeling anxiety...because you are now successful in being you. You invested in you all along the way. ; )
Hope this helps.

sounds like you are getting too serious too quickly. Take a step back and concentrate on your studies first and foremost. Plenty of time for the other stuff later

I'm having the same problem as you. And I'm afraid of losing my edge. I'm in grade 11, and it's supposed to be the hardest year of my schooling. I can't afford to get sidetracked :(
