I bought a coffeeshop recently, and spent ALOT of money. Now I like to start and build my own coffeeshop, but I don't have the experience on how to do so. I need to know all the steps, and places where I can get the information.

Start with coffee. :-)

Seriously, you want a place that has ample room and lighting that's not too bright but not too dim, preferably some kind of Musak playing music that people won't mind hearing for hours on end, have comfortable chairs and large tables, possibly individual lighting, and just create an atmosphere where people will want to hang out and spend their money.

On top of that, make sure you've got top-notch coffee. I've heard of coffee shops that had everything BUT good coffee, and even though I go through the caffeine equivalent of about four pots of coffee a day, if the coffee is lousy, I won't drink it. And I won't go back to a place that has bad coffee unless they get good coffee or have other choices.

It might be good to have a business manager or other adviser who can help you with the business side of things, so you won't get bogged down in the paperwork and can tend to customers. Maybe you could travel to nearby towns that have coffee shops and talk to the owners at those places and get a feel for how others are doing things and you can use that as a blueprint. For what it's worth, check out the links below for a couple coffee shops I've been to quite a bit. I hope they help.

In the meantime, I'm just getting off work and about to go to Denny's for coffee. :-) Good luck.
