When I save the scan to a file and then try to print, the print comes out so enlarged on the printed page that I can see only about 30 % of the whole scanned image. It never did this before and images used to come out beautiful. So I must have touched something I shouldn't have. I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Cool Breeze!

cool breeze, I save them to hard drive, in my pictures folder, then I use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to open them, at the bottom of the Win Pic and Fax Viewer there is a printer icon, click it, it will pop up a wizard to walk you through the pictures you want printed, it let's you select wallet pictures, like 18 on one sheet or two to a full sheet, or a 8x10 of it covering the page, it works great, and the prints are perfect size, Good Luck and Happy Printing. :-)

After saving the scan to file. Open it , most probably it will open in the paint program, you will see its actual size. If it is too large. Use the menu bar to click on
Image > Stretch/Skew
Type a number in the Stretch option, say 30, 30 (Horizontal and vertical) Don't enter anything in Skew.\
Press OK. You will see the image after it is resized. If it is OK for you then save it on the hard disk before printing.

How are you printing it?

Right click on the photo in your list where it is saved and say "print". Then following the XP steps. You will come to one where you choose what size you want to print it.

try canon nicely matched cartridges or re synthetic Cannon cartridges . in simple terms google for providers. maximum folk locate those passable. The printers are bought dirt much less high priced or blanketed in structures and that they make their money from the sale of very high priced ink. it is often extra low priced to swap a canon printer for the hot cartridges, than purchase a replace set of cartridges.
