Honey this is very normal. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope that in time you can deal and maybe get yourself another dog. In fact getting yourself a very young puppy would probably be about the best thing you could do right now, because they are so cute and in need of attention that in no time at all you will forget about your sadness of your loss.

Hey, you know what, my dog, he was a husky/chow mix and I got him when I was in the 5th grade, and he died about 3 yrs ago and I was so upset I could not eat.....its OK to feel depressed I was 23 yrs old when he died and I still miss him today. Its hard when you loose a pet that you have had for that long, I am so sorry about your dog, but it will get better. God Bless

I'm very sorry about your loss...Yes, being depressed about is normal-I just lost my little girl about 3 wks ago..It still hurts so bad and I just can't get used to fact that she's not around..doesn't seem real. It does get better-I can now think and talk about her without crying, but it still just hurts. Hopefully time will dull that-not that I want to lose the good memories but the pain...Also think about getting a puppy. That will keep you busy and you can learn to love another dog....

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
