try one or more of these options:
cry (sometimes you just gotta let it out...)
pray
shop
exercise
take a nap
read a joke book
talk to a friend about it
take a walk in a quiet place
have a glass of wine and a bubble bath
think about how much worse it could be and rejoice that it's not

This happened to me just tonight... I ended up crying and now I feel a little better... it's tough! I just learned today that I have *yet another* health condition to add to my already long list of illnesses!!

Cry, scream... do whatever it takes to get it out of your system... and then, life goes on.

I know how you feel! I keep a journal. So i canKeep my feelings in check and when I don't feel that way any longer I can go back and try to figure out what made me feel that way so that I can avoild it the next time. I never want to cry I'd rather sleep.

Seriously, I turn it over to God to handle and then I try to focus on something else that I've done well at that day. Life is a series of ups and downs, so at my age I know that after a really rough patch I can look forward to something good!

Crying is a good thing because it releases tension. If you seriously don't want to cry then watch some lame-brain tv show or something, read a good book!

Everything is temporary, even despair. You will get through it. Maybe you should get a dog, they love you unconditionally. Take him out for a nice long walk it will do wonders for both of you.

Stay away from drugs and alcohol, it only compounds your problems.

Music can be your therapy. Sometimes hearing something uplifting reminds me that my life isn't over and I can get through my problem. Or even listening to sad songs reminds me that others have felt the same as me, so I'm not alone.
