Our new puppy is humping a stuffed bear. The puppy is female and only two months old. She is a black lab/mix. I've heard it is a dominance thing, but it doesn't seem to be with her. I think she enjoys the way it feels. She does it A LOT.

With females and younger dogs it IS a dominance thing. They are not trying to breed.

I think perhas the puppie must have seen you in actions or perhaps other animals. Then of course it could just be in the dog's nature. After all the dog too need someone or something to play with just as humans do.

Don't know my 3 month old puppy humps his father lol.He's smaller a mixed breed pekinese & Daschound

My dog did the same thing, as soon as she was spayed it stopped.
