Ok, here is my question: I have heard that Satan uses religion and church to drive people away from God + Jesus. I mean religions like Budhism, Islam, etc. If this is true how can you be sure that any Christian religous sect is real? Further more why would God let satan rule earth and try to drive us away from him? It is human nature to be skeptical and to do "bad" things. If you do not believe anything about religion then I DO NOT want your answers. I am looking for answers from Christians only. Thank you.

Thank you all for your input. Firstly I did not mean to offend anyone with my question, I am just a little confused at this point in my life. I would like to add something though: There are millions of people who are not chrisitan and believe in various other gods, does god doom all these millions to hell? These people may not of even had a chance to know of christian ways if they were raised from a child under their parents beliefs which may be non-christian.

Look at it like a test God is giving you! He wants to know if YOU really want to be with HIM! There is a book in the bible called Job! Job went through alot of hard situations but he never left God! Job went through alot of things that Satan threw at him! he still kept his faith and held on! All God wants to know and to prove to you that you want to be with him! Satan thinks he can have us while were here on earth but when we let him tell us what we can do he pushes us away from what we really need! Satan is jealous because we have something he wants and can't have! So he rather make us suffer in the end with him. He is mad because we have a chance to go to Heaven and he lost it! God love all of us but everyone wants him to just take everyone as they are and we will all just be happy! It's not like that at all. there are still rules! Like having a parent you have to abide by the rules! That why we have parents. They teach us how to obey and that there are rules with most things in this world! if you honor your parents and respect them You will have no problem Honoring God in who He is! I go to a church that the people there are very real! they dance they sing and have fun in God! It' is possible to have fun and Have a life and still be a Christian! Baptist is a religion but the act of Loving God with Christ is a lifestyle! It's not just in church! The church is not the building it's the people! You can have church anywhere! But you need to remember that peopel are still people! they have a natural body and a natural mind. We need to remember that! Christians make mistakes but a Good Christian can admit their mistakes and ask God for forgiveness! just trust God to show you where he may want you to have your teachings from! Just Pray and seak God for those types of answers! We are not only just the body but we have a spirit also! we need to take care of the spirit part of us also!

I have not heard that, I have heard that Satan tempts people who are Christians to keep away from Church and it seems the more I am into the word the more Satan tempts me and the more I have to look to GOD for Strength.

Jesus is the truth and the life (Read john 3:16-21).

God does not let Satan rule the world, since Adam and Eve Satan has tempted humans, but God did give us free will. Or our human nature to do bad things. This has torn us from GOD more than Satan I think. Thus the flooding and the reason Jesus was born to die for our sins.

I am not a religious scholar (no kidding), if you have questions about the bible, speak to a pastor or a scholar who can sit down and explain everything to you. If you do not understand or if you are unsure ASK QUESTIONS.

I hope I helped some?

You know if a sect is a valid church of God by comparing what they teach to what the Bible says. Have you ever seen some of those phony baloney televangelists who act all spiritual but you can tell that they are just out to get money? Consider this passage and you'll see what I mean about comparing what the Bible says to what you hear them preaching.

"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter 2:1-3

Religions like Islam and Budhism are just run of the mill counterfeit religions that people who feel a need for religion can fall into. It's the cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Mormons or even some of the Charismaniac preachers that are more dangerous because they act like they worship Jesus but they preach a different gospel.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.

In almost every religion there is at least some bit of truth. As a Christian, I have faith that Christianity has the most truth concerning God and His relation to us. Christians generally believe that Satan has set himself up as ruler of earth after Adam and Eve succumbed to the temptation of the Original Sin, which has its roots in self-pride. Satan tricked man into thinking that a man's life is more important than God. Unlike animals driven purely by instinct, most humans are capable of deciding to think, say, and do things according to a sense of right and wrong. If God had not given humans free will to decide between doing right and wrong, and choosing God first or themselves first, then how could humans truly love God? If every person were a mere automaton, what kind of meaning would the word "love" have? True love requires free will.

It is all just a crazy scheme. Can you not tell this? You are supposedly dealing with a god who has foreknowledge..so he would have to have known that Eve would have eaten the fruit before he even decided to place the tree in the garden. It doesn't make sense any way you look at it unless God just wanted to eternally damn a majority of the people who has ever existed..which he would have had to known would be the end result, unless of course he doesn't have foreknowledge and the Bible lies which leads you to not know what parts of the Bible are true or not.

It's just a fairy tale. Seriously..

"There is no god, no heaven or hell. It's all just as crazy as it sounds. No kiddin'." - Normal Bob Smith

****
Yes, Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the light and NO ONE gets to the father but by me." Also - "He that believth not, shall be eternally damned."

Can't get much clearer than that. So that's right Jeffery Dahmer and Adolph Hitler are in heaven. But Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin and the 6 million Jewish people Hitler killed are all being eternally tortured by an all-loving god... praise the sweet name of Jesus.

It's a seriously sick system. Read your Bible on your own, just like you would any other book.. there is no quicker way to becoming an atheist.

God doesnt let Satan rule, but he does let him try to get u away from him, the reason for this is because he wants to know if u really believe in him, but the part I love about it is that when u prove to God that nomatter what u wont stop believing in him, he will bless u like u never thought he would. Satan can do things to u and take stuff from u but he cannot ever touch or take your soul unless u let him. God only does that to test u. God loves u !!
Remember that!!God Bless u!!

Ok - I will try to help you out. Satan attacks both believers and non-believers. He loves nothing more than to destroy anyone, anyhow especially the church. Satan's presence will be on this earth until Jesus returns but he will be cast in the lake of fire forever when Jesus takes his reign on earth after the rapture (the 7 years) are finished. God is not driving us away from him, Satan is just on the rampage, "seeking whom he may devour". We have to choose which one we want to live for and even though we will be tempted by Satan just like everyone else, we ask for God's grace to help us through and if we do give in to sin, God will still forgive us. God bless!

I'm sorry i don't know the reference but when Jesus was confronted with the suggestion that he was driving out demons on behalf of satan he responded by saying the "a house divided against itself cannot stand". So a religion that is founded in a bible that has never changed, and on belief in a God who never chages (based on the character of God a recored in the Bible - both OT and NT) is assurance.

Satan dosn't rule over the earth, he just has the power to take advantage of our God given free will.

I think this once again comes down to free will. God wants us to choose Him, even in times of difficulty and strife, temptation and lies, etc. He allows Satan to tempt in order to strengthen our faith. Look at the story of Job. Despite all the trials, Job came out stronger and better.

I don't have all the answers, but God does.

I believe what the Bible says is true and sure. I don't accept anything that anyone from any church tells me unless I see it in the Bible and test it against the whole of Scripture as I understand it. If I cannot come to a conclusion as to whether or not something is valid, it goes into the prayer list.
