Recently, I got into a discussion with some of the girls I live with and the topic of shaving "down there" came up. I don't do it... they all do. I have tried it once and didn't really mind until the stubbles started growing in again. I found that part to be uncomfortable and was always worried about little red bumps. My boyfriend and I are intimate and he has never complained about my body hair, but after such a discussion with my suitemates, I'm beginning to wonder if he's secretly not happy. He loves to perform oral sex and I'm wondering if maybe I should shave just so I could make the experience better for the both of us. My suitemates seem to think that it's weird for me to go au naturale, but I've never really known any other way. This is a question for the men mostly, but women please share your experiences. Do men prefer shaved? Would it be entirely strange if your girlfriend randomly shaved her pubes after having fur for so long? Am I the only chick left who doesn't shave? :[

This is a good question. Shave or not to shave.
I shave and my husband likes that I do. I can go either way. I don't think there is anything wrong with not shaving.
There is cream you can buy for the red bumps - that can be avoided. Surely your friends know about that? If they tell you they don't get them - that is crapola.
I had a boyfriend a few years back that told me to shave & thats when I strated doing it. Im sure if your boyfriend didn't like it he would tell you especially if he likes going down on you that much! I think you should just ask him what he thinks on the subject.

I have shaved before and found it uncomfortable all the time. People said that if I kept it shaved for a long period of time the discomfort would go away, but it didn't. I even ended up with a couple big sores from the red bumps. (I'm STD free, btw.) All the shavers, if you know how to fix that I'd love to know! Also, if it's not freshly shaven for sex the stubble could hurt the man just like stubble on his face can hurt you. Shaving is a fairly new thing. You don't have to do it because "every one else is doing it." (Where have we heard that before?) Like some said, do what is best for you!! For me it's best to just keep it trimmed. It doesn't make any difference to my husband either way.

Personally, this guy finds the "shaved look" less appealing but I think most guys like it better. My wife once not only asked if I had any objection to her shaving, she followed my approval with an invitation to do the honors! I, of course, thoroughly enjoyed lending my assistance and the change of pace brought an always welcome infusion of enthusiasm to our love life. She neither requested, nor did I offer, to personally sport the trendy hairstyle. Furthermore, the horrific thought of doing so provided ample inspiration to silently endure the somewhat uncomfortable transition period that soon followed this one-time special occasion! It was a nice change of pace but I can t imagine feeling any sense of disappointment based upon the presence of, or absence of, pubic hair. I kind of think it s a little bit creepy, (in a pre-pubescent sort of way), for a guy to insist that a woman shave. I will make an exception for conditions of excess. I prefer unshaved but tame enough to conceal within the borders of a 2-piece, public beach friendly swim suit. Circus hairy requires remediation efforts or unmistakably "true" love!

Some guys are turned on by un-shaved pubes. I find hair down there quite sexy and its also natural. Women from my culture (India) traditionally did not shave. Now many do or keep them trimmed. But for oral sex, sometimes having hairs down there is a bit inconvenient...particularly if you lose some hair and the guy has to spit it out. Also, in warm and humid countries, keeping hair down there means you have to keep it cleaner...otherwise perspiration and bacteria tend to accumulate.

You've got nothing to lose by shaving/waxing it off .... because it grows back!!! I've just started getting brazilians in the last couple of months and I will now never go back. And beleive me, the guys LOVE IT!!! So give it a go, not just once but for a couple of months and then you'll be able to make your own decision.

Shaved is better but you don't have to be totally shaved. Nothing is worse (well almost) then really getting "into" things down there and then having to spit up hairs. Breaks the whole moment.

Trimming is essential, but shaving has pros and cons. The stubble sucks, and it might bring new meaning to the old saying, "I cut my lip shaving".
Shave if it makes things feel better FOR YOU. Does smooth skin feel better when he touches you on it?
