Many things give me comfort, depending on the situation. My Husband gives me comfort after a long hard day at work. My Granddaughter give me comfort by just hearing her voice. My Family gives me comfort when I've been the lowest in my life. But, My God always is there, ready to listen to anything I want to share with him. Ready to give me a hand when I ask and he always holding me up in the right hand of his righteousness, even when I don't even realize it. He is why I can survive in this world, and get up and face a new day. God Bless!!

As strange as it sounds. I feel more comfortable with a bottle of Jack Daniels, Blockbuster movies, Chicago Deep-dish pizza, and the A/C blowing cold.

Humans. No mater how much humans self distructively hate themselves, and refuse to give credit to themselves. They are the most extrodinary thing that I have known or can imagine.
Humans have this awlful compulsion to be extremly judgemental of themselves and their species. They tend to rarely take credit for what they do. And they (extremly unadvantagefuly) have NO confidence.
So they tend to revert themselves back to a child dependency, and like to take no responsablity for anything (so they will feel safe, and feel comforted about not making a wrong decision.)
So they like to credit other things instead of themselves, and when there is no one else they can credit. They turn to "an invisible freind scenario" and credit a creature named "God" (when someone does good, it's a maricle of "God" and they thank this creature, when someone does bad, it's a problem in humans!)
This is in part; a good example of why and how humans never give credit to their own species. Resulting in them not seeing the beauty in themselves and their world.
I have always found it parculiar, that people can see other animals harm eachother and themselves in an unintelligent way, and yet easily forgive them and not put blame on to them. Because they realise that these animals are not intelligent or have learnt the same as themselves (it also helps that they are fluffy, and cute) so they have enough reasonable thought, to realise not to put blame on them. That it is simply an evolutionary thing, and they are just slowly evolving.
Yet when we look at our own species; if an individual harms something or themselves. We put blame (very quickly) on them and on our whole species? We don't consider it may have to do with them genetically being different, or having different parenting, or not being educated enough. Instead the average person (including myself many times) just blames them. Then in turn does this hidious action, of putting them in a jail, around other people who are more or as, messed up as them. Then they punish them.
Then once they have made them mental enough from punishment and the company of those kinds of people, they release them back into the streets to harm more people, and ultimately psychologically harm themselves!
We forgive (so quickly) other species, yet punish (so quickly) our own.
Instead of taking them off the streets, so they can't be a danger to themselves or others. Yet then educating and helping them, rather then punishing; simply for the benefit of ourselves in the long term. As emotionally influenced actions like punishing them, then letting them go; is just going to make them more insane, and make our world less enjoyable. When we could just consel them, and actually try to help them, to evolve and let them slowly learn to become kind, for our world then to become more benefited.
Also people tend to not remember that we are still animals, and that we are still evolving. They don't realise that we are all at different levels of evolving, so some may process informaton and understand it more then others, or understand the most intelligent actions that will lead to their benefit in the long term etc. It has so far been proven that human beings came from five completley genetically and behaviourally different Apes. Therefore we are all evolving at different times, and all have different ways of learning and pondering. We all need to find ways of communicating or teaching these criminal or unitelligent people, through their individual way.
We put blame on these humans for shooting someone or hurting themselves, yet would we blame an ape if we gave them a gun, or a wilderbeast if it was to act without intelligence and approach a lion? We have irrational expectations.
Anyways I'm getting off the point.... What gives me comfort? It is the good that is in all life, the love that is in it, that gives me comfort. It is the beauty that is in our species, the kindness and care, that I in return then love too. Because ultimatley love, or "happiness" is simply an intelligent action that leads us to the most beneficial life to have. So this gives me comfort.
(And strangely movement; like sitting in a bus travelling, gives me comfort?) :]
