You wouldnt be a part of any organized religion if you arent convinced of anything... fair though to call yourself agnostic

I, too, along with three sisters, was raised Catholic. Two of us do not attend church, one is a Seven Day Adventist, and the other occasionally attends non-denominational services.

I think people of who profess to be religious (that is follow a certain religion) consider themselves believers in God. I follow no religion and do believe in God. Religion is man-made and as such I have not found one that makes me "feel" I'm in the right place. Do you believe in a power higher than yourself? To me there are many religions, but only one God.

I'm trying to make my own decisions about my spirituality and you should too. I am currently studying the Bible and hope someday to study the Koran and other books. The Bible I have discovered, is a great guide for living as a decent, spiritual human being. It deals with fear, relationships, how to treat people, and also how you to use the spirit of God within you and around to stay positive and achieve your goals. Perhaps you and your daughter can start with the Bible and see what it has to offer you.

"For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

Faith comes by hearing.

We have faith not "in our hearts", it is not a "feeling", nor is it an emotion.

What we believe is in God's Word and His promises. In His Word He tells us how we are to be saved. He promises that if we believe that He sent His only Son to die for our sins, that we may inherit eternal life with Him.

From what it looks like to me, you do not know what you believe, you don't seem to have ever been taught the doctrines of the Bible.

I suggest looking into the different Catechisms, namely the Catholic and Lutheran then research which one is correctly interpreting what you read in the Bible.

Also.

Baptism is very important, please go don't waste any time and go Baptize her. Baptism works faith in the child as the Word is combined with the water in a sacrament. Within this sacrament is a promise from God as Paul states, "Baptism now saves you."

Please do this incase of some sort of medical emergency where her life is at risk. None of us is promised another day here on earth.

Deism is defined in Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary, 1941, as: "[From Latin Deus, God.Deity] The doctrine or creed of a Deist." And Deist is defined in the same dictionary as: "One who believes in the existence of a God or supreme being but denies revealed religion, basing his belief on the light of nature and reason."

This common sense approach to God and a spiritual philosophy can not only bring a lasting profound sense of peace and happiness to the individual, but it also has the potential to go light years in eradicating religious fear, superstition and violence.

If you are thinking about religion then you may, indeed, be a religious person. A non-believer wouldn't even consider asking such a question.

That is a good question. Believing in God alone does not mean anything. The devil believes in God and trembles. (James 2:19)

The issue is not what religion do you fit in but where you stand with God. A great website to visit would be www.needhim.org

You didn't state what you personally believe about God, and that is what really counts, not what club you attend 2 or 3 times a week (or not ).

What do you know in your heart? What do you think? Who is Jesus Christ to you? That is where you begin to look for a spiritual identity...in your heart.

If you are feeling hungry for fellowship of some kind, I'm sure there are different fellowships in your area you could drop in on: a ladies' circle, a bible study, etc.

I think the most important thing we should focus on is a relationship not religion. I mean connect with your source, maker, creator, God. He is all around us and too many people are being distracted by religions.

At least send your daughter to church and let her make her own decision of whether she likes it or not. Many churches can be boring full of old people and their ways.I suggest you keep looking. There are many roads to God you just need to find the one that feels right to you spiritually.
