The "correct" one is the one you feel connected to and the one in which you feel you share the core beliefs and values. There's nothing wrong with sampling different religions through reading, meeting people of the various faiths and attending their services. (Keep in mind your experience at one place of worship of a particular faith will vary from your experience at another place of worship of the same faith, due to a different spiritual leader and a different congregation.) I wish you well in your search for a religious faith, and I hope you are fortunate enough to find a place to practice that faith where you will feel welcomed and unconditionally accepted.

If you don't know which religion to join then you obviously lack the neccessary background information to make an informed decision. My suggestion is, rather than be a 'groupie' in joining a religion, take the time to investigate the basic fundamentals of various religions. Do your homework to find which type of religion best meets your own personal criteria with respect to both your moral beliefs and your personal needs for a religous foundation in life.

I am assuming that what you mean is that you are looking for a denomination to follow, and that you do not know which one truly teaches the Bible. And the only answer that I know to give you, is that you must first be sure that you know what the Bible teaches yourself. For if you do not do so, you will have no other way of knowing whether or not the Bible is truly being taught, no matter where you attend church. I hope that you already read the Bible on a regular basis. But if you do not do so, that is where you must first begin. I suggest beginning with the gospel of St. John. And then make certain that you have asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart, and forgive you for your sins. And then just ask Him, and trust Him to lead you to the right church.

Thanks Allot For Your Great Question :)
Well I assume that everyone will tell you that his religion is the best one even me :) , I will just give you a small advice, If you are really truly looking for a religion then of course God will guide you to it, but you must read allot not just in one religion but in most of them or at least the most popular ones

Search for the religion that has no errors, that doesn't conflict with logic or the human nature, search for the religion that has never been changed, and search for the religion that you will find spiritual relief in :)

I won't say what religion I am, I just want you to search and read more :) if you want any other help please feel free to contact me on abouterachess@yahoo.com bye :)

The "correct" faith is the one that makes the most sense to you. I could easily say Christianity was the "correct" faith, or Judaism for that matter. I could say that any faith was the "correct" faith, but in truth, I don't know. I wasn't around when any of the faiths were created, I have no special knowledge of this life or the next. Thus, I cannot accurately say which belief system is "correct". The onus falls on the individual to determine what he/she believes in. I can no more tell you what to believe than I can tell you what to think. My recommendation is to examine the various faiths, attend their services/meetings if they'll let you. Get someone who knows that faith to explain it to you. If that faith doesn't seem right for you, check another one. If you find a faith that fits you or just seems right, then you've found the correct fit for you.

There is no correct religion. But there is a relationship with the Lord. Your church experience should be based on the doctrine of the church lining up with what YOU understand and believe the Word of God to say. Be a Christian first, love the Lord and everything else will fall in place.

"Religion is a sham run by people who want to fool you into giving away your money"...
yet i'm sure that the people who say this don't mind giving to needs that they want to give to, such as charity, or helping out a friend that may be down and out. i find it funny that people consider "religion" some kind of brainwash but choose to spend their money on somewhat similar causes. people spend money where they want to spend it. it's not forced, it's encouraged. so what if the rich guy in the white suit asks you for your money? this is a free country, and you have a choice as to whether or not to spend it.

now, to answer your question. i agree that you shouldn't look for a religion, you should look for a relationship with God. but i'm pretty sure that you're pretty confused now, considering the huge and diverse amount of answers you've gotten. i think that the "religion" you're going for would speak for itself. if you believe that the Bible is God's word, then go ahead and read it some before you make a choice.

Better to start a religion than to join one. That way you get to make all the rules.

Don't join a religion. Start a relationship.

What's your purpose for wanting to join a religion? What needs are you trying to meet? If you looking for significance, why not just become a volunteer with Big Brother Big Sisters. It's kinda like going to church but without the "Thou Shalt Nots".
