Because it is what separates thrid world countries from first world countries. If you think about it, for example, the African countries have far less education compared to European ones, therefore many children born in Africa have it harder because the teachers are not teaching them how to get out of poverty and stuff like that. If we had no schools in the U.S., China and Japan would undoubtedly surpass us economically, since they would teach their children how to stay above thepoverty boundary and how to remain a super power. So it is very important to have schools and eductaion because without them, America, for example, would not be as economically successful as it is today and would certainly crumble if it did not teach it's youngsters how to do anything.

You'll have to go to school to get the "full details" -- but briefly, school performance has a definite bearing on your standard of living the rest of your life (better job). But even more importantly, school (if it's doing its job) exercises your mind -- to think, reason, consider, meditate. It's the stuff ideas are made of, and with ideas comes change.

School is important not only for the knowledge you gain in your classes but you also learn how to learn. Someone who has demonstrated that they can understand and apply the new concepts they study in school are more likely to be able to quickly learn new things on the job and in life.
For example, I studied calculus for two semesters in high school and one semester in college. I've never used calculus since but I'm glad I developed the mental dexterity and persistence needed to master a relatively difficult discipline and it makes me more confident when I have to learn something new in my current job.

First of all, you will learn to communicate intelligently in written and spoken English. Secondly, attending school is important so students learn socialization skills, problem solving and teamwork. Third, it keeps you from rotting your brain with Nintendo and Yahoo overuse.

Read "The Teenage Liberation Handbook". It'll show you how to really be educated rather than just schooled.

It teaches you needed skills to make you well-roounded and basic job skills. It also shows you can stick to something and accomplish something. I mean a four year degree demonstrates your ability to successfully coplete something, so if I hire you, I knw that it is possible for you to be with my company for a while.
