Hi, I got a 96' Nissan Altima, and recently I found out that my speedometer needle wouldn't move only if I press the odometer to reset it then it move. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how much will it be to fix it? is that the wire's problem?

Internal failure of the spedometer you are going to need another spedo. This failure can also cause a P0500 speed sensor code and check engine light. Nissan shop and 200+ dollars

change the fuse. I blew the fuses in my car a little while ago and i had to start from scratch with wires and everything because I made a big mistake... in the end what was left was the fuses that i blew. Try that. Never cut wires:)

I would look at the cable going into the back up the instrument cluster. It seems that it would be loose. Just look for the cable behind your speedometer. It goes to the transmission. ect.

To make the speedo move - first you have to make the car move!

You can get your friends to push it if it hasn't got any petrol - but you must make the "vroom vroom" noises.

You need to put your foot on the gas.

Your accelerator is probably stuck or your emergency brake is on
