How easy it would be for us if the people that pass would come back to confirm our beliefs. Then would you behave better? Would you change the way you did things? Would you follow your religion with more conviction? No it is better to have true faith. If you truly wish to talk with your parents that have passed you could do some research into that. There are many resources available online to teach you how to do just that.Don't wait for a source outside of yourself to guide you to the truth. It's all right there inside of yourself.

lets say you decide not to wait anymore.... then what? Are you still going to strap a bomb to your body and blow your self up. Of will you finally realize there is no muslim paradise with 72 virgins. Maybe you better convert to being a jew now.

I wasn't aware that people come back from paradise as I was always under the assumption that paradise is eternal

Ask them to visit you in a dream or while your in prayer. Some times they need an invitation before they can come back through the viel between life and death. or they may have already moved on to another life.
